Eventually, I came to the realization that hiring me was like hiring a gourmet chef to take the finest, locally-grown, organic ingredients to prepare the most mouthwatering culinary delights for a lavish dinner party. Only instead of the chef finishing the job and plating the food, they just left it in the pots and pans and bowls for YOU to plate.
Are you a dad who’s facing the prospects of an hours long documentary family photography session? Not sure what to think? Feeling a bit apprehensive and skeptical about it? Wondering what to expect? Read on!
I have an overwhelming urge to preserve the charm and uniqueness of our little town for my children. I haven’t been able to shake the idea since it popped into my head and as things continue to change I keep kicking myself, wishing I had photographs of how things were. While I’ve known of many who have started or been in the midst of them, I can count on one hand the number I know who have finished them! For those of you who don’t know, a 365 project is where you take a photo every single day for a year and share it. I’ve been wanting to do one for awhile now, to document my childrens’ lives (they grow and change so fast). It sounds simple enough, but man is it HARD
Highlights from a full DITL with this family of six – from homemade chocolate chip pancakes in the morning, to story time before bed – scroll through for a glimpse of their jam-packed day!
I posted this photo on my personal facebook page the other day with the caption, “self-portrait from today.” A friend commented: Awwww…..that’s a great pic! Love it! Wait……Self portrait? How’s that reasonably possible? So I chuckled and explained how I did it, but let’s rewind a bit before I get into that.
