Organic Family Portraits.

Nothing artificial here. Just family, all together, as they go about their day, whether it be an average, run-of-the-mill day or a special, shout-from-the-rooftop kinda day. I work hard each and every session to get the entire family together in at least one photo. I love how this type of family portraiture is able to show meaningful relationships, how much families love one another, and individual personalities, not just smiles for the camera with a pretty backdrop.

No posing, just living.

Following are some of my favorite authentic family portraits I’ve taken for clients in Connecticut and beyond.

Meeting his brother for the first time while Dad shows Mom, who wasn’t able to be there, via FaceTime… this is a more abstract family portrait, but they’re all there!
Story time before bed with the entire family… my favorite part of this is the youngest, fiercely independent girl, reading her book upside down ❤️
It’s so hard when your kids are at different stages. Heck, it’s hard when they’re in the same stage. Parenting is just hard! But be sure to capture these crazy days, because one day you’re going to miss them.
Big brother meets his brand new sister and won’t take his hands off her… or his eyes off the TV!
Unhappy with the whole first haircut experience, Mom & Dad try to console him… while Big Sister tries to make him laugh.
Even your pets can be a part of organic family portraits… or the focus! This was this guy’s last Christmas with his people 😪
In addition to the antics of daily life, real life family portraits can also capture signs of the time — in this case, “Trump ‘shoves’ NATO ally to get to front of pack” flashes on the news.
Mom & Dad share a moment while enjoying an easy lunch at Wendy’s.
TWO new baby sisters…
and a TV!!!

Curious to see what your organic family portraits would look like? Let’s chat!
