Photography Challenge for All

Often when our minds are reeling with an overload of emotions, the last thing we feel like doing is, well, anything at all. Who hasn’t been there in the last few, heck, bajillion weeks of ‘social isolation‘ (sounds like an oxymoron if you ask me)? Yet these are the times when tapping into our creativity can help us more than we can imagine. Art may not fix things, but it sure can help us cope (or at the very least, provide a diversion).

As such, I put together a photography challenge for students. But I don’t really care about their age, hell, I don’t even really care if they’re a student. So I guess I put together a challenge for anyone and everyone. Are you a grandparent that wants to try it out with that fancy camera you bought and never used? A college student done for the semester? Are you enduring isolation on your own? Do you want to read the prompts to your preschooler and see what kind of magic they come up with? Want to do it alongside your high schooler? Have at it! I don’t care what camera you use, how old you are, or your talent level.

I encourage anyone and everyone to participate!!

Oh, and I’ll contribute $5 for everyone who completes the entire challenge (up to $500). 80% of the money will be donated to whichever nonprofit receives the most votes from entrants, and the other 20% will go to the winner!

Are you on board? Here’s what to do:

1. Download the Challenge:

2. Complete all 15 items. Be creative. Be literal. Be you!

3. Make photos with whatever camera you have – camera phones are perfectly acceptable!

4. Rename photos before you submit with your last name and the number from the challenge. For numbers 1, 3, & 15, add letters after the number for each photo in the group (for example: Holden1A, Holden 1B, Holden1C…)

5. Submit your photos to anna@annaholdenphotography.com no later than July 31, 2020 at 11:59pm. Don’t forget to let me know in your email which charity you’d like to benefit!

My goal with this project is to help, not to stress anyone out. If the time is not right, please, just let it go (or bookmark it and come back to it at some other point). With that said, I am really looking forward to seeing everyone’s work! Stay healthy, my friends.

xo, Anna
