the best of 2020 · My self-portrait project
At the start of last year, I decided to double down and commit to a personal project that I’ve been working up to for years now. My new year’s resolution was to make one self-portrait a week with my family. Then, a global pandemic broke out. As such, with the exception of a wee bit of outdoor client work, making self-portraits is what I did in 2020. I seldom picked up my camera otherwise.
Being far from a normal year, I am beyond proud of myself for completing my resolution/project. Even amidst all their imperfections, I treasure each and every one of these photos. They are a glimpse at what life was like during the global pandemic of Covid-19, at least from my little corner of the world, with ME front and center — yes, me — a visible, tangible piece of my family’s history.
If you are interested in reading more about the whys or hows of my 52 week project (both pre and post-pandemic), here are a few links:

May ‘the sickness’ (as my kids say) end soon. Until then, stay safe and healthy and try and get in some pictures with your family!
