Hey moms! Are you in your family photos?

Anna Holden Photography

I’m not talking about those in-your-face-selfies we all have with our favorite humans, you know, many of which were taken with those crazy snapchat filters. Nor am I talking about your yearly 15 minute pilgrimage to a gorgeous location to take perfectly coiffed, posed, family portraiture in your Sunday best. No, I’m talking about those day-to-day photos where someone else recognizes the sweetness of a candid moment and takes a photo of you, a true superwoman, in action.

You deserve to be in your family photos!

First, so you can see how awesome you are. Second, so you and your family will have proof of how awesome you are!

So, why aren’t you in your family photos? Are you a single mom, does your husband not take photos, are you waiting until your house is clean, you’ve showered, you’ve lost some weight, think your kids are too wild, something else? As a new year’s resolution, I encourage you to figure this out, and develop an action plan to get in more pictures with your loved ones. Does this mean committing to ask your family, friends, or even complete strangers to take a photo with you in it? Not worrying about how your house looks? Realizing you can take some photos for your eyes only without sharing on social media? Hiring a documentary family photographer? Investing in a new camera or better phone? Promise me you’ll reflect on this… it’s so important.

All mothers should have photos where they can see just how hard they live, love, laugh, work, and play.

Of course, your favorite Connecticut family photographer is here if you need! I’m always more than happy to hang out with your family and capture your everyday shenanigans. And, since no one can have a photographer around for every worthy moment, next month I’ll be sharing some self portrait tips on the blog! So stay tuned for that! Here’s to a happy & healthy new year!

Much love, Anna
